Lion

A timid lion cub named Kio is born to Summer, the queen of a powerful pride. When a hunt ends in tragedy, Kio gets his first glimpse at how unpredictable life on the savannah can be. He slowly grows braver until a solo adventure brings him face to face with the pride's mortal enemy: the buffalo.

After a narrow escape, 12-week-old Kio must earn the respect of his older brothers if he’s ever to survive – and one day become a king. Just as he finally finds his place among them, disaster tears the family apart, forcing Summer to make an extraordinary sacrifice to protect Kio's future.

Summer and Kio finally reunite with the brothers, but they soon face a harsh new reality. Kio's mother must teach this inexperienced brotherhood everything they need for independence and hunt for them — alone. But in increasing desperation, she makes a dangerous decision. Kio's life is changed forever.

Alone and far from home, Kio and his brothers must survive in territories ruled by rival males. A thriving marsh and a pride of lionesses offer hope for a new beginning until the reigning kings return and attack. To claim a kingdom of his own, Kio must prove he has the courage to lead.
